The emerging art fair in Balboa celebrated its ninth edition at JUST MAD, located in the central street of Nuñez de Balboa 32. The new artistic direction was formed by the distinguished Spanish curators Semíramis González and Daniel Silvo, and the purpose of the meeting between Europe and Latin America was to encourage the reception of galleries with a diverse cast of artists.
Our proposal is:
- Báraba G. F. Muriel. Scar, body, fragility, identity, clinic. The lines of research and critical and artistic experimentation which it seeks to explore open up around these concepts. In this process of intimate reappropriation, the needles embroider fragments of a body woven with narratives and pathological and normative discourses but also erratic and dissident.
- Rafa Jiménez. Use plastiline to cover, deform and interpret. This material gives him pieces a bulky, tactile character. Always starting from recognizable iconic images to distort, images that by themselves or their contents pass to posterity for some reason and that determine our way of "remembering" or associate a particular historical or personal event. This causes in the spectator the constant search of the character or characters between the deformed strokes that make up the image.
