He has a Phd in Romanesque Philology and he's Proffesor of Spanish Literature at the Complutense University of Madrid. Very close to the theatre, he was director of the National Classical Theatre Company from 2000 to 2004. He is Honorary Academic of the Real Academia of Valencian Culture and he also directs the program Música y Letra in esRadio.
He is a member of the Royal Academy of History, an academic at the Buenas Letras Academyin Granada, member of the Royal Council of the Prado Museum and member of the jury of the Princesa de Asturias de las letras award. His scientific production focuses mainly on the translation and critical editing of works of western literature from the II millenium to the s.XX.
Son of the comedian Spanish Enrique Herreros, he's a lawyer, journalist and is closely linked to the film world since his youth, being head of Advertising at United Artist in Madrid and the Paramount of Iberoamerica. Historian, researcher and doctor in American History, he has been a visiting proffesor in prestigious universities and he's currently a member of the Colombian Academy of History. He has published in the Revista de Occidente as well as in the ABC Cultural.
Literature Proffesor and with a long experience in book publishing, he has published textbooks and a chapter dedicated to the eighteenth century of the great History of Hispanic American Literature, coordinated with Felipe Pedraza. In his last years he has been engaged in developing the informative line of Chronicles of History collection
